Breathing Exercise & Muscle Relaxation

We developed these 2 videos for the Scottish Government’s Steps for Stress website.  

The two simple exercises demonstrated here can ease some of the immediate effects of stress – tense muscles, irregular breathing and poor concentration.

Follow the breathing video to start learning how to breathe in a calming way. Paying attention to your breathing can be a good way to relax and you can find also that it helps focus your thoughts.

Simple muscular relaxation can help you feel calmer and put you in the right frame of mind to start dealing with your stress

Try these short exercises every day for a couple of weeks and any time you feel stressed to see if you notice a difference.
